Running as a Lifestyle Medicine for Longevity

Study Review: "Running as a Key Lifestyle Medicine for Longevity" (Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases)

Key Findings: Runners generally have a 30% to 40% lower risk of premature mortality and live approximately 3 years longer than non-runners. Running even 5 to 10 minutes a day at slow speeds (under 6 mph) is highly protective.
Practical Application: You do not need marathon mileage to reap running benefits. Slow, short beginner runs or jog-walk intervals are highly therapeutic and sufficient for longevity.
Coach's Note: This study highlights that running is powerful medicine. The most exciting part is how little it takes to start seeing dramatic health benefits.
